Born: September 30, 1994 in Yegorievsk, Russia
Current Hometown: Moscow, Russia
Siblings: Younger sister, Nailya Mustafina, (born November 5, 1996) is also a Russian elite gymnast and a member of Russia’s Junior Elite Team. Nailya won a silver medal on floor exercise at the 2008 Pacific Rim Championships in San Jose, CA.
Father: Farhad Mustafin was a bronze medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and two-time Greco-Roman wrestling World Champion (1974 World Championships in Katowitce, Poland and the 1975 World Championships in Minsk).
