You are buying a paperback book with a gymnastics/fantasy theme.
Everyone knows how hard it is to find good reading material with a gymnastics
theme for young gymnasts. Even when they are available they tend
to go fast since gymnasts and gym parents are always looking for them.
We were fortunate to get our hands on a small number of them so we could
offer them for sale to the gymnastics community.
We have a very limited quantity of these available.
These hard-to-find titles are listed online by some dealers and at least
one major online book distributor as a hard-to-find title with the advisory
that they are not discounted and are subject to an additional charge of
$1.99 per book because of their limited availability and the time and expense
to track them down.
This story is an interesting read, has a gymnastics theme interwoven
with a fantasy theme and is a strong parable as well.
The cover description of the story is as follows:
"Megan discovers the thrill of being a gymnast with star talent.
She forgets her old fears and dismisses her friend's self-doubt.
But when the team needs her, Megan suddenly panics. Can Megan regain
her confidence and save the championship?"
Actually the book is much more than that and hits on topics like dealing
with perfectionism, the proper place of sports and friendship and interaction
of teammates.
As usual with gymnastics fiction and authors who were not gymnasts
or parents of gymnasts, there are some minor gymnastics and gymnastics
competition factual irregularities. In this case, however, with its
fantasy theme, they are mostly irrelevant and don't detract from the book
as a whole.
The illustrations by Bill Dodge and Rich Grote
are excellent as is evident from the cover illustration included with
this ad.
A couple of the gymnastics illustrations are first rate artwork.
This book is listed online by some as a COLLECTIBLE
(as most gymnastics fiction is or should be) It is a
STATED FIRST EDITION
and is in brand new condition right off the shelf.
